Credit cards

Where can I find my credit card agreement?

Thanks to the CARD Act, credit card agreements are publicly available in a database maintained by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Click here to visit the database.

If your card comes from an institution that issues fewer than 10,000 cards, it is not required to post its agreement here, but, by law, all issuers must make your agreement available to you upon request. Card issuers must also post a sample (or generic) cardholder agreement on their website. This provides general information but may not list all the terms applicable to your specific card.

Your credit card issuer should also provide a "Guide to Benefits" when it first sends you the card. If you no longer have the original guide, you can ask your credit card issuer for an updated version, or search for it online.
