Credit Cards
How much can I be charged for making my monthly credit card payment late?
Generally, a late fee can be either a maximum of $25 or the amount of the minimum payment you were late with—whichever is less. (For example, if the minimum payment due was $15, then your late fee could not exceed $15. If the minimum payment due were, say, $50, your late payment fee still could not be more than $25.) However, a second late payment within six months could push your fee up to as much as $35. And if you make a payment more than 60 days late, you could also see your interest rate go up.Quick Menu
