How can I locate my old unclaimed money or property?
Locating unclaimed money, funds or property is easy and free. Visit Missing Money, a database of state unclaimed property records.
If the state you are looking for does not participate or does not have a website, visit the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA). For more information, NAUPA's site has a list of Frequently Asked Questions.
Legitimate state agencie can help you find abandoned assets. Click here to find your state's site: Missing Money by State.
Be aware that some sites are run by con artists who just want to steal your personal information. Never give out personal information unless you are absolutely sure whom you are dealing with.
