Celebrating Innovative Multilingual Consumer Education

To mark its 42nd Anniversary, Consumer Action’s Annual Awards Reception on October 22, 2013 will celebrate our four decades of free multilingual consumer education. Since the early 1970s, Consumer Action’s reputation for multilingual consumer education and advocacy has grown nationally.

Each year, we distribute more than one million publications in five languages, serving limited English speaking populations in every state. Our multilingual and multicultural outreach and training staff counsels consumers, offers technical advice, conducts train-the-trainer workshops and community educational presentations and provides expert analysis and commentary to the Spanish and Chinese media on a variety of consumer issues. Our free consumer advice and referral hotline handles calls in Spanish and two Chinese dialects, as well as English, serving close to 10,000 consumers in 2012.
