California’s Low Cost Automobile Insurance Program for 2009 (Korean)

캘리포니아 주법은 모든 운전자들이 자동차 보험에 가입할 것을 규정하고 있습니다. 무보험으로 운전할 경우, 다음과 같은 결과를 초래할 수 있습니다.

• 차량 등록 정지
• 운전면허 정지
• 차량 압수
• 벌금 징수

보험료를 지불할 수 없어 자동차 보험없이 운전하고 계십니까?

캘리포니아주는 소득에 근거한 자격을 충족하는 모범 운전 자들이 연 400 달러 미만으로 저렴한 자동차 보험에 가입할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하였습니다. (책임보험만 해당)

보험증권(policy)은 캘리포니아 주정부로부터 사업 면허를 받은 보험회사가 발급합니다. 캘리포니아 로우 코스트 오토모빌 인셔런스 (California’s Low Cost Automobile Insurance)의 보험증권은 주정부의 책임보험 의무가입 요건을 충족합니다.

다음의 자격요건을 충족하는 운전자는 캘리포니아 로우 코스트 오토모빌 인셔런스 프로그램에 가입할 수 있습니다.

• 좋은 운전 기록
• 19세 이상의 운전자
• 운전 면허증 최초 발급일자로부터 최소 3년 경과
• 시가 2만 달러 이하의 차량 소유
• 소득 기준 충족
• 해당 카운티 중 한 곳에 거주

• Eligibility is based on the household’s gross annual income which must be 250% or less of the federal poverty level.
• A “Household” is all persons who occupy a housing unit and who are related by blood, marriage, adoption or guardianship (i.e., members of one family). If more than one family is living in the same housing unit, they constitute different families for eligibility purposes even though they reside at the same address.
