Senate poised to pass housing bill

The saga still isn’t over, but after months of debate on Capitol Hill, the Senate seemed poised Thursday to finally pass a comprehensive housing and foreclosure prevention bill this week.
The measure, which would create a new government-backed foreclosure prevention program and strengthen oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, still faces a likely final debate in the House.
