Facebook’s facial recognition: How to check your settings

Facebook is testing a new feature called “Tag Suggestions” to some users. The feature uses facial recognition to recommend people to tag in new user photos. The feature was announced in December and has been available in the U.S., but now users across the globe are seeing the suggestions, said security firm Sophos on its Naked Security blog. Facebook spokesman Andrew Noyes confirmed that the new feature is active for some users in most countries around the world. The company has a history of introducing new features without letting users know in advance. In most cases, initial criticism has died down after users adjust to the new settings, as with the Facebook profile redesign.
