Does this scene resonate with you? You go through the Sunday advertisements looking for bargains at your grocery store. You see some great sales and head to the supermarket. You search the shelves, but the one sale item you really want is not available. You either huff out the store, or you find something else to buy. Now you have a chance to tell the Federal Trade Commission what you think about grocery stores and how they follow through on their advertised sales. The FTC is reviewing the Retail Food Store Advertising and Marketing Practices Rule, also known as the Unavailability Rule, which was originally enacted in 1971. The rule prohibits food retailers from advertising products at bargain prices to attract customers unless the products are in stock and available during the effective sale period.Read Full Article: FTC seeks feedback on advertized sales
