Warn kids on scams

You’ve talked to your kids about drugs. You’ve talked to your kids about sex. That means the really tough stuff is out of the way. Now it’s time to talk to your kids about scams.
For years I’ve explained how the elderly are targets of crooks. Scammers work hard to tap into that comfortable little nest egg of retirement savings. Other people become victims because they don’t have that savings and become desperate. Now the scammers want to diversify.
Just as the credit-card companies figured out there was money to be made from the college crowd, scammers are getting the same idea. After all, this generation of children has more disposable income that any other. If they can spend it on iPods and cellphones, then why can’t the con artists skim a little as well?
