FTC videos warn of online phishing scams
The Federal Trade Commission has released new videos that illustrate the dangers of online phishing.

Phishing scams are email or pop-up messages that say they are from an organization or business that a consumer has a relationship with, such as an Internet Service Provider, government agency, auction site, bank, or online retailer, but they are not. The message may ask the consumer to “update,” “validate,” or “confirm” account information. When you click on the message, it will often take the person to a website that looks legitimate, even though it is not. These messages are intended to steal financial and other important information from consumers, often to steal their identities.
