Lauren Hall

Policy Advocate, National Priorities

Lauren Hall is a Policy Advocate, National Priorities with Consumer Action’s Washington, DC office. She has over a decade of experience working in the nonprofit sector on a variety of consumer advocacy issues ranging from housing, to education, to healthcare and privacy, to affordable and accessible public resources.

As a DC team member, Hall helps to further Consumer Action’s national legislative and advocacy priorities through coalition building, education and outreach and direct action. On any given day, Hall can be found attending a congressional briefing on the Hill; meeting with key partners to plan a press conference; researching and writing on legislation that impacts consumers; coordinating the creation of the Consumer Action INSIDER newsletter; writing Consumer Actions monthly SCAM GRAM newsletter on scams and frauds of relevance to consumers; or sending timely alerts to consumers educating them on how they can make their voices heard.

Before joining Consumer Action, Lauren managed all communications and outreach at Foster Care to Success, the oldest and largest national nonprofit helping to connect foster youth with a college education. Lauren also ran communications campaigns at Food & Water Watch, an international consumer advocacy group promoting safe and accessible food and water resources, and at the National Alliance to End Homelessness, the largest nonprofit dedicated to securing affordable housing and supportive services for homeless individuals and families. Lauren is enrolled in George Mason University’s Master of Public Administration program with a concentration in nonprofit management.
