Travel loyalty programs, desperate to keep their customers, have reduced or waived annual fees on credit cards, added bonuses, and tapped the brakes on point devaluations. It’s part of an industry-wide effort to remain relevant at a time when the pandemic is redefining the concept of customer loyalty. But it’s still too soon to tell whether their strategies will work.
