National Consumer Empowerment Conference (2019)

Consumer Action's 10th Annual National Consumer Empowerment Conference will be held on Sept. 18-19, 2019, near Chicago, IL. The annual conference takes community outreach and consumer literacy training to the next level by giving our most effective community group partners—from cooperative extension offices and social service agencies to veterans' advocates and credit and housing counselors—the rare opportunity to learn from some of the country's top community educators and subject matter experts and to network with other adult consumer literacy education providers.

Testimonials

This was my second year attending Consumer Action's national conference. It was a great experience, just as I expected. One of the best parts about the event is that it brings together practitioners from nearly every corner of the U.S. The presentations really help put national news into something more tangible with the stories from the front lines. Consumer Action does a great job at bringing in dynamic and interesting speakers, with topics ranging from consumer education, advocacy and controversial issues that need to be addressed. For service providers, it is so important that we stay current and relevant in regards to the issues at hand, and aware of available tools and resources. This conference is great at keeping it all in the forefront of our minds.”

To say that Consumer Action's 9th annual conference was amazing is an understatement! From logistical arrangements, hospitality, the content of material offered, speakers and the information they provided, everything was seamless from beginning to end! The comradery of the Consumer Action staff team kept the conference flowing. While attending, I had the pleasure of meeting James Garvey, CEO and co-founder of Self Lender, whose credit building resource personally helped increase my credit score by at least 70 points and has become my "go-to" resource to help the clients I serve. The fintech solutions I learned about are direct tools that I can provide my clients to change their financial futures. I left informed, empowered and challenged to do more and perhaps even create new and innovative tools to help our clients! I look forward to the 2019 conference!”

As always, Consumer Action did an outstanding job. I received an abundance of information that I was able to go back and share with others within my organization to help our clients ... I appreciate access to new tools that are useful and free. It helps me to stretch my budget. I can’t thank you enough for access to all of this wonderful material.”
