Borrowers who own residential property in California with a mortgage serviced by Chase between July 28, 2011 and August 1, 2017 where Chase subsequently released the lien but continued to attempt to collect on the unpaid balance on the loan may eligible for payment. Class members will automatically receive payment. The company reached a settlement over allegations of violations of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and California’s Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
