Health insurance company United Healthcare agreed to settle a lawsuit alleging wrongful denial of liposuction claims to treat lipedema. If you had health insurance administered by United Healthcare and your claim for specialized liposuction for treatment of lipedema was denied as unproven between Jan. 1, 2015, and Dec. 31, 2019, you may be eligible for reconsideration of coverage for the procedure or, if you have already paid for the procedure, reimbursement.
