Patreon, a crowdfunding platform for artists and creators, agreed to pay $7.25 million to resolve allegations that the company disclosed the identities and video-viewing preferences of its users to Facebook without their consent, a violation of the federal Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA). If, between April 1, 2016, and Sept. 23, 2024, you requested or obtained video content on the Patreon website and, at that time, you had both a Facebook account and a Patreon account, you may be eligible for payment.

California gasoline (antitrust/price-fixing) »

Claim deadline is/was Wednesday, 08 January 2025.

A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit brought by the California attorney general against Vitol Inc., SK Energy Americas, Inc., and SK Trading International Co. Ltd. alleging that the defendants manipulated gasoline prices in California, in violation of antitrust laws. Of the $50 million settlement, $37.5 million will go to affected consumers. If you live in California and purchased gasoline at retail between Feb. 20, 2015, and Nov. 10, 2015, in any of ten Southern California counties (Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Kern, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and/or Imperial), or if you bought gasoline on behalf of a business or as an out-of-state visitor in California between Feb. 18, 2015, and May 31, 2017, you may be eligible for payment. Hyundai (vehicle defect) »

The maker of Hyundai automobiles will pay $145 million to settle allegations that it manufactured certain of its vehicles between 2011 and 2022 without equipping them with an engine immobilizer—a type of electronic security technology—thereby leaving them more vulnerable to theft. If you purchased or leased an eligible Hyundai (listed on the settlement website and searchable by VIN), you may be eligible for a payment and/or a vehicle software upgrade.

PillPack (TCPA violations) »

Claim deadline is/was Monday, 20 January 2025.

PillPack, Amazon’s online pharmacy providing medication home delivery, agreed to pay $6.5 million to settle allegations that the company violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by making unsolicited prerecorded telemarketing calls to consumers without their consent. If you received a prerecorded voice call from PillPack between March 13, 2018, and June 16, 2019, where the call was then transferred to a call center, you may be entitled to payment.

Visa and Mastercard (inflated ATM fees) »

Claim deadline is/was Wednesday, 22 January 2025.

Visa and Mastercard agreed to pay $197.5 million to settle allegations that the companies violated consumer protection laws by overcharging bank customers when they withdrew money from ATMs using their Visa or Mastercard debit cards. If, between Oct. 1, 2007, and July 26, 2024, you paid unreimbursed surcharges to withdraw cash from an ATM owned by a bank other than the one that issued your debit card, you may be eligible for payment.

Intervet/HomeAgain (misrepresentations/omissions) »

Claim deadline is/was Monday, 27 January 2025.

Intervet, a subisidiary of Merck Animal Health, which owns pet recovery service HomeAgain, agreed to settle a lawsuit alleging that it tricked owners of microchipped pets into purchasing a HomeAgain premium membership by leading them to believe that they needed it to remain in and update their contact information in the HomeAgain database.
