Call now: Paycheck Fairness Act vote tomorrow

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

From our friends at the National Women's Law Center:

Tomorrow your Senators will be voting on the Paycheck Fairness Act! Precious few hours remain for our Senators to get the message — support the Paycheck Fairness Act and stop discounting women.

Take two minutes of your time to call your Senators at 877-667-6650 and ask that they pass the Paycheck Fairness Act when it comes to the Senate floor tomorrow!

The pressure is on and your help is needed to make sure your Senators know that Women are not 'Worth Less'! Even if you’ve called or emailed before, we need you to do it again. This bill would deter wage discrimination by closing loopholes in the Equal Pay Act and bar retaliation against workers who disclose their wages to coworkers.

And it all boils down to the Senate. Today, the National Women’s Law Center and a broad coalition of our partners are hosting a nationwide call-in day before tomorrow’s vote.

Please dial 877-667-6650 and simple instructions will direct you to your Senators’ offices. After you are put through, tell them:

  • Your name
  • That you are their constituent
  • You are calling to urge them to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act tomorrow and help end wage discrimination against women

The final hours are ticking by and every call makes a difference. Please, take a few moments to call the Senate at 877-667-6650 and ask them to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act for women and their families before time runs out!
