Petition: Don’t let automakers weaken clean car standards

Friday, February 07, 2020

Clean car standards enjoy support from the majority of Americans who want cleaner air, a stable climate and to save money at the gas pump. States' authority to create more protective clean car standards has decades-long bi-partisan support. But now, General Motors, Toyota, and Fiat Chrysler have sided with the Trump Administration's attack on clean car standards and the Clean Air Act. (Not all automakers have taken this harmful step: Ford, Honda, BMW and Volkswagen have committed to more protective clean car standards.)

If they succeed in rolling back clean car standards, it would lead to billions of tons of additional pollution, cost Americans about $460 billion in lost fuel savings, and prevent the creation or cause the elimination of between 89,000 and 202,000 jobs nationally.

Sign a petition by Save Our Environment to let automakers know you don't appreciate attacks on clean car standards!
