Returning to student loan repayment

The COVID-19 Payment Pause is ending September 1, 2023. This means that borrowers will be returning to repayment for the first time in more than three years.  Sometime over the summer, you should get notice from your loan servicer about preparing for returning to repayment.

Take These Steps to Prepare:

1. Check your current loan information: Log into your account at studentaid.gov to determine what kinds of federal student loans you have, how much you owe, who holds your loans, what the status of your loans is (including whether your loans are in default), what repayment plan you are enrolled in (if any), and who your loan servicer is.
