Businesses should take action now to reduce plastic waste

A new report last month found that plastic food packaging has overtaken cigarette butts as the most prevalent beach trash globally. The increasing plastic litter is a startling reminder that plastic is omnipresent in food and beverage packaging. Food-soiled plastic is rarely recycled, ending up in the ocean, on our beaches and eventually in the very food we eat and the water we drink.
