There’s nothing like a good scare to send us all scurrying to our auto insurance policy to see what our coverage is. This month, those of us who have followed the story of Progressive Insurance and the Fisher family got one. Matt Fisher took to his Tumblr and Twitter to call out Progressive for the fact that, in his words, his sister had paid the company premiums only to have it defend her killer in court after her death in an auto accident. Indeed, Progressive tried to convince a jury that the crash was her fault. The company lost and ended up paying the Fishers’ claim plus a settlement, and Progressive also took it on the chin on national television.
