New York AG finds student loan company Transworld Systems misled borrowers

An agreement struck with Transworld Systems, Inc. by state Attorney General Letitia James will strengthen borrower protections and toss  lawsuits filed by the firm against thousands of student borrowers.

James’ office found that the principal debt collector for the National Collegiate Student Loan Trusts violated multiple federal and state consumer protection laws by making false, misleading and deceptive statements in the collegiate student loan lawsuits and in communications with borrowers.
