Walgreens (FCRA violations) »
Defendant: Walgreens
Walgreens agreed to settle a case alleging that the national drugstore chain violated the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) by sending a disposition email—a message notifying job applicants that they were disqualified from employment based on the results of their background check—too soon after the applicants received a copy of the background check on which the company based its decision. If you applied for a job with Walgreens, and Walgreens obtained a background report and may have denied you employment based on that report between March 30, 2020, and May 17, 2022, you may be eligible for payment. A payment of$100 to qualifying class members is automatic; no claim is necessary. However, if you intended to contact Walgreens to explain the circumstances of any information in your background check or would have disputed whether information was accurate or complete, but did not do so because you received a disposition email before you had an opportunity to contact Walgreens, you may be eligible for an additional $818.28. You must file a claim for the additional payment, if you qualify.
Claim deadline is Thursday, 23 May 2024.
