Library: English | Finding the Right Job Training School - Seminar Lesson Plan and Class Activities
This downloadable packet guides community educators through a three hour presentation on finding the right job training program (also known as “trade” or “vocational” schools). The lesson plan helps prospective students discern which jobs require or recommend vocational training, recognize whether the program is appropriately accredited, learn which questions to ask the school to help identify fraudulent programs, understand the importance of community colleges, and determine their best options for paying for school. The lesson plan, which is designed to be used in conjunction with the downloadable PowerPoint presentation, also includes learning activities and a class evaluation form.
